2018 Draggins Club News

Monday evening June 24th the Draggins Rod & Custom Car Club held their annual open house.

The weather was not ideal but still had a good turnout for visiting, snacks & catching up with friends in the car community.

The Saskatoon Mustang & Classic Ford Club held their inter-club evening on June 21st. A lovely evening with great food, good friends & a terrific variety of vehicles.

The Saskatoon Shifters car club A & W Hop Night had a large turnout of great vehicles on a beautiful hot summer evening, June 23.

---

 

Another nice Saturday for the Back 40 Show n' Shine in Delisle, Sk. on July14th. The streets were lined with great cars, live music, food & a booth with a variety of tasty pies made in the community. A car show that is sure to grow year after year.

Saturday July 21st was another great summer evening for the Shifters Car Club Hop Night at the A & W on 8th st. in Saskatoon

What a turn out for Sunday July 22nd at Tiger Automotive's 3rd Annual Car show in Saskatoon. Music, prizes, over 130 great cars & all donations to the Saskatoon Food Bank. Look forward to next year's show.

Annual Cruising for a Cause with the A & W for their drive for MS was held August 16 2018. Some of the members of the Draggins Rod & Custom Car Club attended the 8th st location & presented the club's donation to the A & W Manager.

Rock 102 held their first Cruise weekend Pit Stop at the Coop Home Centre on 8th st Saturday Aug 18 from 5-10p.m. Great place for vehicles to have a pit stop as they were cruising & lots of spectators having a closer look at the cool rides. There were prizes to enter for, food trucks, music, & games.

Sunday August 19 the downtown Saskatoon streets were filled with a great collection of all types of  collector, vintage, sports, & other unique vehicles. Music, vendors, displays, & thousands of spectators for the afternoon. Draggins Rod & Custom Car Club members that attended with their vehicles had another great time at the show.

Preston Park Residence's Show & Shine had a good turnout of vehicles on August 21. Lots of music, visiting, & the Chef served up a fine barbeque.

Saturday August 25 the parking lot of Saskatoon Elim Church was full of interesting vehicles of all variety. Although the weather was cool & cloudy, the good music & barbeque meal was terrific & everyone enjoyed themselves. There was a great crowd of onlookers checking out the vehicles.

Saturday Sept 8 2018 cooler temps & cloudy skies didn't keep the great vehicles from filling the streets of Martinsville for the A & W Show & Shine.

Sept 7 2018 some club members attended the grand opening of Prairieland Park's recent renovations to the main entrance and lobby. They also made the announcement  that the Trade & Convention facility of Prairieland will be rebranded as the World Trade Center Saskatoon at Prairieland Park.

Circle Drive Alliance Church celebrated their Fall Kick Off on Sunday Sept 9 2018 with music, food, kids activities & a fine turn out of vehicles of all makes & models.

Club members spent some time touring Camp Easter Seal on the September long weekend. It's easy to see why the summer campers love to spend time there.

Nu-Fab Building Supplies held their annual Show & Shine Saturday Sept 15. Another very successful show with lots of great vehicles, a barbeque, music & prizes for all. Participants had an opportunity to check out their terrific show room & warm up a few minutes as the day was overcast & cool. Rain clouds threatened but didn't put a damper on the visiting & checking out all the cars. Nu-Fab presented a $5000.00 cheque plus other donations from the day to Ronald McDonald House of Saskatoon.

Dusty Wheels Car Club of Rosetown held their annual car show on Sunday Sept 23 2018. The weather was cool but many great vehicles were on show for the event. Our Draggins club showed 7 vehicles and were awarded the Club Participation Award.

The Coachmen Car Club held their Fall Roundup on Saturday October 6th.

---

 

Members and their families gathered on Oct 8th to celebrate presenting another donation from the 2018 car show to their main charitable organization. Allison Robertson of the Saskatchewan Abilities Council accepted a cheque of $35,000 from Draggins President Rob Gunn. These funds will go towards continuing projects at Camp Easter Seal at Manitou Beach.
